Call for editors – The Dandelion Journal

The Dandelion Journal seeks EDITORS to assist in the compiling and editing of the journal’s ‘Holding Things in Common’ special issue.

We invite all Birkbeck School of Arts Postgraduate Students to join the Dandelion Journal Editorial Team. No prior experience of publishing or editorial is necessary: you will learn editorial skills as you go. We particularly require editors whose expertise lie in the fields of: History of Art, Screen Media, English and Humanities.

As a Dandelion Subeditor, you will be required to edit and copyedit two or three articles (of up to 5000 words each) between mid-October 2014 and early March 2015. You may need to attend one or two editorial meetings with the rest of the team during this time. You will also be welcome to contribute to the team in any other ways you desire (e.g. events planning, design, typesetting etc).

We encourage you to send us an email explaining why and how you would like to be involved and detailing any relevant experience you have.

We look forward to hearing from you:

Many thanks
The editors

Translator (Portuguese and Spanish): Feature documentary: PAID

Alice Cady at Ronnie Films is working on a feature doc with the makers of SENNA and Exit Through the Gift Shop and needs someone who can translate/transcribe the footage that comes in. These clips will be predominantly in Portuguese though some may be in Spanish and everything will need to be translated to English.  Going forward they may also need small clips translated from a whole host of languages from around the world (depending on what footage they end up finding/using).

Experience transcribing is not totally necessary, formats etc to work to can be sent through. The job pays £10/hr (roughly 15-20 mins transcript) and hours are flexible.
